Health Update

Health Update:

My pathology report came back from my ridiculously long named- 4 hour surgery ——> “FULL HYSTERECTOMY, SALPINGO-OOPHORECTOMY, DISSECTION of 28 PELVIC LYMPH NODES, and an OMENTECTOMY “

(Copied and pasted from report for those curious)

My official Diagnosis came back as stage IC1, grade 1 endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the left ovary.

Nothing looks to have metastasized from the left side which is great news! But due to the large size of the mass, and attachment to my abdomen- inter operative rupture occurred, luckily rupture occurred in the endobag and not my abdomen as that would have been really, really bad.

Chemo will start at the end of the month to assure no microscopic cancer cells spilled or are left to cause reoccurrence after future remission.

This won’t be easy but I’m a firm believer that things don’t happen to us, they happen for us. I know that I’ll beat this and that this shitty situation will have been a vital stepping stone to mold me into the person God designed me to be. It is in our darkest times that we grow and build our true character.

and for that I’m thankful. Treatment is just beginning but so is this next chapter.

I’m so thankful that I’m in tune with my body and trusted my intuition even after Doctors called me crazy for years.

My OBGYN Oncologist said, she can’t believe I caught this early on and that if I let this go on longer this cancer would not be curative.
